Researching: A How To Guide

Steps to finding research materials and academically sounded resources using the Hallmark University database system

Find Your Database

The Hallmark University Databases and Resources Page is where you find academically sound databases.

ProQuest One Academic is a great general resource!

You can find this by typing ProQuest One Academic into the search box (as seen below), looking under the 'P' section, or by finding it in the General Research Databases section to the right of the screen.

You may have to log into the system which can be done using your email and Hallmark password.

For databases specific to your field of study, Government resources, or Open Source resources use the drop-down boxes to narrow the database list by Subject, Type, or Vendor

Search Box

On the right side of the Hallmark University Databases and Resources page, there is a search box. Do not enter your keywords into this search box because it only looks at the names of the links on this specific page (i.e. ProQuest One Academic, Federal Bureau of Aviation, Academic Video Online, Health & Medical Collection, ABI/Inform). It will not find articles for you. You have to choose one of the links on this page first, open the link, and then it will take you to a page where you can enter your keywords and find articles. Go to the 'Using the Database' page for more on finding articles within one of the databases.
